Football Kenya Federation realized kshs 3,873,600( $38,262.8) in gate collection in Kenya’s Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier against Ghana on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani.
Big Brother Events and Ticketing, the company charged with the event, sold a total of 16,798 regular tickets and 514 VIP tickets out of 50,000 tickets floated for sale on the match day. Coupled with 494 complimentary tickets, the total attendance stood at 17806.
Earlier on Monday, FKF President Nick Mwendwa thanked fans who turned out in large numbers to rally behind Harambee Stars against Ghana as he urged them to replicate the same when Kenya takes on Malawi in an international friendly match on Tuesday.
“I want to thank all those who turned up for the match. The atmosphere was crucial for us to pick up maximum points,” said the FKF President.
The match has been slated for Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani starting at 3 pm.
