Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has revealed that the people of Kenya made overtures to him to become their Football Association chief.

The GFA President made this known when he arrived from Kenya earlier this week after helping to solve a football crisis in that country.

“After our meeting to solve the crisis in Kenya, some of the Kenyan FA members asked the FIFA officials if it was possible for me to be their FA President in addition to being Ghana FA boss,” Nyantakyi said amidst laughter when he arrived at the Kotoka airport.

Nyantakyi has been hailed for aiding to bring sanity into the running of the Kenyan football which had been in crisis for some time now.

The Kenyan Premier League and the Football Kenya Federation have been at loggerheads over the number of teams expected to compete in the elite division of Kenya football.

The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) is running a16 team league as opposed to the 18 team league proposed by the Football Kenya Federation.

The problem had degenerated to the point that FIFA had to set up a team, led by Kwesi Nyantakyi to help resolve the impasse.

After a series of meetings this week, the two feuding factions agreed on the suggestions and modalities proposed by the Nyantakyi led team.

The feuding factions have thus resolved to end their standoff in the best interest of Kenya football.

Nyantakyi himself would be standing for re-election later this year after almost ten years in office.
