Ghana forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has made a quick return from injury as he played a part in US Sassuolo’s 6-2 thrashing against Atalanta on Saturday.
Boateng suffered a muscular injury in the Neroverdi’s 2-1 loss against Parma last month.
It was reported that he will be sidelined until 2019 but the 32-year-old has returned earlier than expected as he came on for Alessandro Matri in the 56th minute of their match against Atalanta.
The former AC Milan star announced his comeback with a delightful assist to compatriot Alfred Duncan to score his second goal of the game two minutes after his introduction.
Despite Boateng’s positive impact, Roberto De Zerbi’s men were walloped 6-2 in front of their teeming supporters at the Mapei Stadium.
He is expected to return to the starting line up when Sassuolo travels to the Stadio San Paolo to play as guests to SS Napoli in the Italian Cup on January 13.
