Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng has thrown his weight of support behind Juventus star Blaise Matuidi after the midfielder opened up about being the subject of racial slurs during his side's 1-0 win at Cagliari in Serie A on Saturday.

The France midfielder took to his Facebook page after the game and wrote; “weak people try to intimidate with hate". "I am not a hater and can only be sorry for those who set bad examples,"

He added: "Today I experienced racism during the match. "Football is a way to spread equality, passion and inspiration and this is what I am here for. Peace."

The Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder who is an active anti-racism campaigner shared a message of solidarity on his twitter page with the former PSG defensive midfielder.

Boateng, is one of many footballers who have experienced the cowardly act while doing what they love. The 30 year old caused a stir in 2013 with the full support of his AC Milan colleagues, forced a friendly match against Italian fourth division side Pro Patria to be halted after 25 minutes when he got fed up with racist chants directed towards him.
