Ex-Ghana striker Kim Grant has applied for the vacant Black Stars coaching job, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The former Charlton Athletic player is the first to confirm his application after the Ghana FA announced parting ways with Kwesi Appiah on mutual consent.

Grant holds a UEFA license B coaching certificate and remains open to any coaching position at the Ghana Football Association.

The 41-year-old currently scouts for English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion.

“Grant has tendered his application to the GFA for all the positions including the Black Stars, but we favour the U-17 because of his links in Europe,” Grants spokesperson Jacob Klins told GHANASoccernet.com.

“We are looking to hear from them, but we want to help develop Ghana football.”

Grant last worked as manager for Conference National side Woking in 2008 where his reign lasted for four months.

He played for Ghana between 1996 and 1997 and made seven appearances for the Black Stars.
