Kim Grant delighted over Hearts-Umbro partnership

Kim Grant says he is delighted over his side’s partnership with United Kingdom kits manufacturing giants Umbro.

The club officially unveiled their new jersey on Wednesday at a colourful ceremony held at the Accra Sports Stadium which was attended by the fans, management members and the media.

The Umbro deal which was brokered by former Managing Director of the club Mark Noonan in 2018 saw the club paying for the production cost of the jersey at $ 100,000.

Speaking to the media after the unveiling of the jersey, Kim Grant said, “It is a great a day for the club. A new era for the club and hopefully this partnership would be a fruitful one and definitely it’s something the supporters, the players and the management are all delighted this deal happened”.

Grant also mentioned that the Hearts of Oak team will resume training in the last week of July to begin preparations ahead of the new season.

“The players will resume training in the last week of July and it is important the players get good rest and hopefully they come back refreshed and from there we see when the normalization committee is going to start the new season”, he added.

Aspiring Ghana Football Association Presidential candidate, Wilfred Osei Palmer, who was present at the ceremony, bought the new Hearts of Oak jersey for GH?20,000 to be shared among the supporters.

As part of the partnership, Umbro will be the exclusive global technical partnerof the Club,supplying the Hearts playing squad with best-in-class authentic competition wear, training apparel and equipment, off field apparel, footwear and luggage. Umbro will also supply the technical and management staff with Hearts’ branded apparel.

The Ghanaian powerhouse joins an exclusive list of clubs including Everton, Huddersfield Town, Werder Bremen and FC Nürnberg who are being kitted by the English sportswear and football equipment supplier.
