Berekum Chelsea striker Kofi Owusu says he is hopeful of beating First Capital Plus Bank Premier League leading goalscorer Nathaniel Asamoah to the golden boot on the final day of the season.
Owusu, who scored a brace in their 2-3 defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak on match day 29, is just a goal away from equalling Nathaniel Asamoah's total of 18, after the striker moved to Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.
And he is confident of scoring on the final day against Wa All Stars to clinch the goal king.
"Before the start of the league ,I had set a target of scoring in every match, and with a match to end the league I have a great opportunity to become goal king and I'm going for it."
"Becoming goal king was not my initial target but under the current circumstance I have to grab the opportunity.” the former Aduana Stars striker told Joy FM.
"I started playing in the Ghana premier league in 2010 and I feel this is my time to shine," he added.
Berekum Chelsea will welcome Wa All Stars to the Golden City Park on final day of the season.
