The former trainer of the Black Satellites is very much impressed with his replacement and has labeled the caretaker coach as the best coach in the country at the moment.

Orlando Wellington sees Maxwell Konadu as the best man for the position he vacated a fortnight ago and is optimistic he will qualify the team for the African Youth Championship slated for Algeria from the 16th -20th of March 2013.

Speaking to Gold Sports the ex-Heart of Lions and Berekum Chelsea trainer said, ‘Konadu is a good young talented coach. He is the best coach in the country at the moment and I think he can succeed with this team. The players are there and the crop of players in camp at the moment and those bidding to come and join, I think they will do well. I am sure and very optimistic that he will qualify the team.’

Orlando wellington’s assertion on the team’s chances come as a surprise as he admitted in his post-match comments after the game against Namibia contrast his current position.

He was quoted as saying ‘The previous Black Starlets could not make an impact and hence the current Satellites team lacked a spine.’

He was still tinkering with the team and admitted the quality of materials was suspect until he vacated his post. The Black satellites play against Uganda in an AYC qualifier next weekend.
