Reigning Ghana Premier League champions, Aduana Stars and 2017 MTN FA Cup champions, Asante Kotoko, are expected to present names of players they will use in the next year’s Africa club competition to CAF today.
Aduana Stars who will represent Ghana in next season’s Champions League have made some quality recruitment in the transfer market so far. Noticeably among them is the acquisition of veteran attacking midfielder Yayaha Mohammed, Hafiz Adams, Caleb Amankwah and Congolese striker Uba Ikama.
Kotoko on the other hand, have been busy in the transfer market as well, as they have also acquired some players which includes Jordan Opoku, Wahab Adams, Micheal Abu, Emmanuel Owusu, Mohammed Vie Sylla and the promotion of Douglas Owusu who come up from the youth ranks.
Notably, clubs can still present names of players to CAF for registration after the deadline but will pay a fine.
Meanwhile, Aduana Stars will play Libyan topflight side, El Tahadi in the preliminary round of next season’s Champions League whilst Kotoko will face Club Athletic Renaissance Aiglon (CARA) in the preliminary stages of the Confederation Cup.
