Kotoko Circles Council confer honours on players

The Brong-Ahafo Regional Circles Council (BARCC) of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club has honoured seven players for their loyalty.

Each of the players who are natives of Brong-Ahafo received a citation at a maiden awards ceremony held at the New Stamford Bridge pub in Sunyani.

They were goalie Isaac Kwaku Amoako, striker Saddick Adams, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Baba Mahama, Abass Mohammed, Danlad Ibrahim and Collins Ameyaw.

Mr. Joseph Nkoo, the Communication’s Director of the BARCC underscored the need for the supporters to recognize the contributions and performance of the players so as to motivate them in their quest to win the Confederations Cup.

He appealed to the Management of the “Porcupine Warriors” to quickly come out with its strategic plan for the Club to help the supporters to also plan ahead or draw a feasible timetable before the commencement of Confederation Cup competition.

“Supporters would also be very glad if there could be a blue print of defined structures for our beloved team Kotoko to follow," he stated.

Mr. Nkoo said he was optimistic that, with proper laid-down structures, administering the club would be much easier for management now and years to come.

The Communications Director appealed to the management to give coach Steve Pollack and other technical staff of the club, the free hands to operate and called on its Life Patron Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene to help complete the Adako Jachie training grounds project.

Mr. Kwaku Amponsah, the National Circles Chairman of the Club reminded the local circles to remain strong pillars of club.

He indicated that Kumasi Asante Kotoko was determined to reach the ‘Money zone” in the Confederations Cup and added that financial support was required from all the local circles in that direction.

Mr. Amponsah who is popularly known as “Chairman K. five” appealed to supporters who had not registered to visit the club’s portal, and register on its data base to enable them contribute their quota as the club prepares for Africa. GNA
