Kotoko Express owes Graphic GHc 150,000

Alhaji Ali Maradona, the Deputy Operation Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has revealed that Kotoko Express, which is the official mouthpiece of the club owes Graphic Communication to the tune of GHc 150,000 in printing cost.

Graphic Communications prints the Kotoko Express newspaper, in addition to its own newspapers at an agreed cost.

However, Kotoko Express, which was contributing GHc 5,000 every month under Dr. K.K Sarpong’s administration, due to its ability to generate profit is now a liability.

Alhaji Maradona Maradona has expressed disappointment after getting the news of Kotoko Express huge debt.

“I have found out the Kotoko Express owes Graphic Corporation to the tune of 1.5 billion old Ghana cedis. This is unbelievable, because every day we send numerous new Papers to the market and a lot of people patronize it,” he told Sika FM.

“Are we creating huge debt for Otumfuo to come to our aid or what? That is impossible, because there is a board chairman for the paper and he is a member of the board of Kotoko so why should thing go this way.

“Kotoko Express has no accountant to ensure the right thing is done with monies that come into its coffer, hence they are used anyhow”.

Ambassador Kabral Blay Amihere is the Board Chairman of the official mouthpiece of the league champions.
