The 2024 Democracy Cup match between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak has been rescheduled for July 17, 2024.
The game, which commemorates 30 years of parliamentary democracy in Ghana, was originally slated for Friday, July 5, 2024.
However, due to unknown reasons, the match has been postponed, as announced by Asante Kotoko in a tweet on July 1, 2024.
During the official launch, the Parliament Clerk announced that the winner of the tie will face Major League Soccer side, DC United, in Washington, United States of America.
The match, which has been approved by the Ghana Football Association, will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Among other activities scheduled to take place is a special curtain-raiser before the kick-off of the Democracy Cup, featuring Members of Parliament taking on former Black Stars players.
Other activities lined up for this monumental event include a peace walk, mock parliamentary sittings, and other fun games.
Parliament aims to connect with Ghanaians through these activities while encouraging citizens to be engaged in legislative activities.
