The Public Relations Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kennedy Boakye Ansah on Friday participated in a clean-up exercise organized by a group that is on a campaign to keep Ghana clean.
The volunteers which included a Canadian-based Ghanaian cleaned some principal streets of the Central Regional town of Winneba and desilted stagnant waters and choked gutters in the township.
Commenting on the exercise via his Facebook wall, Kennedy commended the volunteers for the exercise.
He pressed home the need for Ghanaians to in their little ways contribute to the development of the country.
“I joined my friend Mary who has travelled all the way from Canada for a Clean Ghana Campaign. We were joined by some students to clean up some parts of Winneba and I must admit the commitment shown by all was amazing”.
“Since my appointment as the PRO of arguably the biggest football brand in Ghana, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, I have had to redirect my life. My life is circled around the club I feel so honoured to be a part of this great football club. As citizens we have a role to play to make our country a better place to live in”.
The GBC broadcaster also enumerated some charitable works undertaken by his club.
“Before our CAF Champs League game against Kano Pillars in Kumasi, through the kind courtesy of Dechris (current supporters chief of Asante Kotoko) we made some donations to the children's department of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the Mampong Children's Home”.
“In the coming months we shall do a lot for the country Ghana not just on the playing field but by affecting the society we live in through lot's of Corporate Social activities”.
