Kotoko To Get Ultra-Modern Training Facility

Kotoko’s Adako Jachie Project is about to start after a long wait. Director of Communication, Kwame Baah-Nuakoh in a briefing after a management meeting on Saturday evening told Kotoko Express that the first phase of the project would cost the club GHC 500, 000 and that contract for the construction of two training pitches has been awarded to Green Grass Technology (GGT) who constructed training pitches, for Ghana CAN 2008.

Kwame Baah-Nuakoh disclosed that the first phase of the project comprises two training pitches, offices, gymnasium, a store room and dormitory to serve as camping rooms. He said management was committed to leaving a good legacy for the club and that the five-management body would go to every extent to see the completion of the project.

Kwame Baah-Nuakoh said US$ 100,000 from Eric Bekoe’s transfer cash would go into the project adding that funds would be raised from other sources to support it. “We have a number of programmes and plans to help us raise adequate funds for the project. If everything goes well, the first phase of the project will be completed in good time after which attention will shift to the second face” said the Director of Communications.

Asked when the first phase of the project is likely to start, Kwame Baah-Nuakoh revealed that management was expecting the final design of the two training pitches from the contractors this week and after their approval, work would start at the site. “Green Grass Technology are expected to bring the final design and immediately after approval, they will move their equipments to commence work” he said.

Kotoko continues to train at the Ridge Park and supporters of the club have often wondered why the club has over the years not been able to construct its won training pitch, gymnasium and other facilities. The arguments have been on-going for years now abut with management’s latest move, the club will soon own a training ground and other modern training facilities to ensure proper development of the players.
