Captain of Dreams FC Abdul Bashiru insists Asante Kotoko’s protest against their trip to Tumu to face 24 Hours FC in the MTN FA Cup is motivated by their immense fear of his side.

The Premier League debutants are geared towards securing another impressive result against the Ghanaian giants when they clash upon the resumption of the Ghanaian top flight next week Wednesday.

CK Akunnor’s side are currently third in the Ghana Premier League ahead of Kotoko’s visit to Dawu where they are yet to lose.

Kotoko, however, feel they have turned the corner in their faltering season with their 3-1 win over Liberty Professionals over the weekend – making the game even more poised especially for the neutrals.

The former Ghanaian champions however are to embark on a long trip to Tumu to face 24 Hours FC in the MTN FA Cup this weekend while Dreams FC will be rested as they were eliminated from the competition in the last round.

Management of the Porcupine Warriors are however pulling all the strings to avoid the trip to Tumu citing the poor nature of the playing surface.

But Abdul Bashiru feels Kotoko are only trying to avoid making the trip over fears of facing a well-rested Dreams side in Dawu next Wednesday.

“I am not buying all the excuses they [Kotoko] are making,” Bashiru said.

“They are making all these claims simply because they have an eye on their next game which is against Dreams FC.

“I think they are scared and that is why these protests are flying all over.

“But we are not bothered about that as we remain focused awaiting them in Dawu where we are very confident of getting a sweet victory.”

Dreams have made an impressive start to their debut campaign in the Ghanaian top flight where they have lost just once in the seven matches played so far.

The good form of CK Akunnor’s side saw them secure an unexpected win over AshantiGold in Obuasi last weekend to propel the side to within just three points adrift leaders Wa All Stars.
