Kotoko coach to be fired?

Asante Kotoko coach Telat Uzum seems to be under intense pressure from the team's supporters after Kotoko failed to score more goals in their MTN Caf Champions League first leg encounter with Gambia's Port Authourity at the Len Clay stadium last saturday, a match which Kotoko struggled to win by a lone goal through a penalty.

According to some of the angry supporters who mostly used phone-in programmes on radio stations in kumasi to express their displeasure, the coach seems not to know how to use the players at the right positions and has what they term poor "reading of games"which makes it very tough for him to change the pattern of games, and are therefore calling for his exit earlier to avoid elimination from Africa's most lucrative league.

The Turk, who has won a couple of matches since his arrival some months ago, begun to lose favour in the fabulous supporters' fold after the back to back defeat by rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and the subsequent poor recent performances by the team.

However, the players could not go unblamed as some supporters questioned their commitment to the team and the bad scoring prowess of the attackers to the extend of messing up begging chances before empty nets.

The million dollar question therefore is; is the Sylvester Owusu led management ready to listen to the cry of the fans and let Telat go or are some players going to leave as Michael Asante and co did?. Your guess is as good as mine.

In a related development, Kotoko is scheduled to play the second leg of the Champions league game against Port Authority next weekend and may leave for Gambia early this week.
