Deputy coach of Asante Kotoko Akakpo Patron has expressed his belief that his outfit should have gotten something out of their match against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors were pipped 1-0 by arch-rivals Hearts of Oak on Match Day 10 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The hosts had their moments in the first half to bury the game but fluffed their lines before Hearts of Oak came back strongly in the second half to claim victory courtesy Patrick Razak's sublime finish as the Phobians ended their three-game winless run.

Speaking to reporters after the match, coach Patron, who was impressed by his players display believes they deserved more from the game than losing the maximum points.

"As a matter of fact we didn't like the way it started because one of our players got injured and that caused us tactically," he said in a post match interview. "From there we tried to strategise tactically and we were into it. I think we were slightly ahead of Hearts of Oak in the first half," Patron added.

"And we have a bit of chances we had I think we should have also punished them. In the second half we came in strongly, we started very well and once you make mistakes around the penalty yard box you will be punished at the highest level and then we got that punishment."

"Scoring goals give some kind of spirit to your opponents, whoever you play and Hearts of Oak took over. We had to come back strongly, got one or two chances we couldn't bury. At the end I think we should have gotten something from this game eventhough we lost but at least we should have had a point."

Kumasi Asante Kotoko suffered their first defeat at home this season on Sunday and have now dropped to the 10th position on the league table.
