Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko have enough quality to represent the Black Stars at the international level, assistant coach Michael Osei has claimed.

The Ghanaian giants have been peerless in the pre-season where they have remained unbeaten after ten games with their latest friendly being a narrow 1-0 win over Ivorian side Tanda FC on Sunday.

They can boast of the best crop of players in the domestic scene and look like the possible candidate to retain their Premier League crown.

The Porcupine Warriors have simply been irrepressible in the last three years where they have increased their trophy cabinet and leaving their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak to play catch-ups.

The club’s assistant coach Michael Osei claims the two-time African champions are good enough to represent the Black Stars at the international level.

“Of course. We have the men who can play for the Black Stars. We can represent the Black Stars if the opportunity avails itself,” he told Accra-based Oman FM

“We have quality in depth to become the new Black Stars. We’re not getting ahead of ourselves but I know what I’m talking about.

“It’s not only the games that we have been playing but if you look at the team cohesion and solid displays, you will be amaze. It’s still a team in progress.”

The biggest Ghanaian club have attracted a host of experienced and quality players including Rashid Sumaila, Akwasi Acheampong, Obed Owusu, Ahmed Toure, Emmanuel Asante with Mark Sekyere expected to join in January.
