Kotoko is not afraid of any opposition - Yeboah

Kumasi, July 28, GNA - Kumasi Asante Kotoko's defender Godfred Yeboah has said that the Club has what it takes to beat any opposition in the Group stages of this year's CAF confederation Cup competition.

He has therefore urged the teeming supporters of the Club to rally behind the playing body both spiritually and physically to help them win the ultimate trophy of the competition.

Yeboah who was the skipper for Kotoko in their encounter against Al-Ittihad of Libya was speaking to the GNA Sports in Kumasi on Monday. Kotoko beat the Libyan side 3-1 in the second leg of their match to record a 4-3 aggregate victory to qualify to the group stage of the competition.

This is the second time the 'Porcupine Warriors have made it to this stage since the inception of the competition some five years ago. The Kotoko defender indicated that the team was training hard for the challenges ahead after having learnt a lot of lessons in their preliminary matches in the competition.

Yeboah praised his colleagues for their tactical discipline and the courage with which they fought to win the match in spite of the absence of some key players including the skipper of the side, Emmanuel Osei Kuffour, Samuel Inkoom and Harrison Afful.

In a related development, Mr George Amoako, Management Member in-charge of Finance and Administration of Kotoko has noted that the Club has put in place all the necessary measures to ensure that they won the Confederation Cup.

He attributed the team's success over the Libyans to the massive support they had and urged all well-meaning supporters to continue to pray for the team to enable it achieve its aims.
