Kotoko is our first African club - Strike boss reveals

Asante Kotoko kit sponsors Strike representative, Ricardo Pereira Baptista has revealed that the Ghanian side is the first football club to reach a deal with his outfit.

Speaking to FOX FM, the Strike official revealed his outfit are kitting national teams in Angola, Guinea Bissau, Zimbabwe as well as some clubs in the La Liga and Ligue 1 in the French top flight.

Ricardo Pereira is currently with Asante Kotoko in Kumasi where he has delivered to the club first batch of sets of jerseys, bibs, travelling bags etc as part of their deal with Kotoko ahead of their Confederations Cup campaign. This is the first time the Portuguese has stepped a foot on Ghanaian soil and have been highly impressed with his experience.

"Personally this is my first time coming to Ghana", Ricardo told FOX FM in an interview.

"We are sponsoring national teams in Angola, we are in Guinea Bissau, we are in Zimbabwe where we are sponsoring national teams. Kotoko is a very big club and they are the first club we are kitting in Africa ", Pereira stated.

Many Ghanaians have wondered whether the said Portuguese company Strike is such a notable brand to be a kit sponsor for the record 23 times Ghana league champions, but Ricardo Jorge Pereira Baptista seems to have settled the argument by stating his outfit is sponsoring clubs in the French Ligue 1 as well as in La Liga.

" We are sponsoring some clubs in the French Ligue 1 and one club in La Liga. In Africa Kotoko is the first club we are sponsoring ", he said.
