Manager of former Asante Kotoko striker Songne Yacouba, Gabriel Antwi says management lacks the requisite knowledge in handling contractual issue.
Yacouba, who previously played for Mali’s Stade Malien and Rail Club du Kadiogo in his homeland, left the Kumasi based club after two years following the Porcupine’s inability to meet the 28 year’s $150,000 demand for his renewal.
“We had a discussion with the management of Asante kotoko and resolved that Yacouba will not renew his contract with the club because the Executive Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei said he couldn’t meet our demands of $150,000.” The outspoken Gabriel Antwi told Kumasi-based Ashh FM.
“Songne Yacouba’s chances of playing for Kotoko is 50-50”
“I was shocked Asante Kotoko chose to ostracise Yacouba in crunch duels against Etoile du Sahel and San Pedro.”
“Prudently, there is no coach who will bench a prolific striker like Songne Yacouba.”
“Management of Asante Kotoko are bereft of the requisite knowledge needed to manage players. How they conducted themselves in the whole Yacouba brouhaha was questionable.”
“Our door is still open to other clubs willing to engage the services of our player.”
Yacouba became an instant hit at the club after scoring two goals and providing five assists for Kotoko during their 2018 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
