Asante Kotoko were in superior form as they thrashed neighbours AshantiGold 3-0 in a late kick off at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Michael Akufo and Nathaniel Asamoah both scored in the first half to set the Porcupine Warriors on their way to victory before Michael Anaba added the third goal with three minutes left on the clock.
Though it is still early days in the competition, the win places Kotoko among the top-four side while the Miners slump to 13th on the table.
Life after Bashir Hayford presented Medeama with nothing new as the Tarkwa side slumped to their second league defeat on Sunday.
With Hayford placed on leave after their league opener, Medeama were expecting better luck as Yusif Abubakar led the side to the Agyeman Badu Park where they lost 1-0 to Aduana Stars.
