Asante Kotoko will leave for Serbia on 6 August as they step up their preparation for the 2011-2012 Ghana Premier League season.

The 35-man contingent will stay in the Eastern European country for 11 days.

The two-time Africa champions will play some formidable sides in Serbia before returning to the pre-season Top-Four tournament.

"We have the Top-Four to play and since we do not have much time on our hands, the best way out is for us to go out of town to cool off and also train hard to be able to make a better and bigger impact in the top four and beyond," Kotoko's Administrative Manager Ben Nti said.

"More importantly, the trip will also give the new and existing players to bond well and build better camaraderie for the general good of the team."

Before the start of the 2007/2008 season, Kotoko toured Nigeria, Sudan, Germany and Ivory Coast and played over 30 matches.

The Kumasi-based won the league that season under Bashir Hayford.
