Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko are set to appoint Maxwell Konadu as new head coach, Ghana Sports has learnt.
Charles Akonnor has confirmed to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM that he has been told to step aside and take the reigns as Technical Director.
Ghana Sports sources have confirmed Konadu has been in touch with the Kotoko hierarchy since his release as Black Star No. 3.
Sunyani-based Sun City Radio have also reported the former Wa All Star, Ghana U20 and Black Stars B coach will be named the next coach of the record Ghana Premier League winners.
The Porcupine Warriors have won the NC Special Competition Tier I after beating Karela United in the final with Akonnor at the helm.
Akonnor, a former Ghana and Wolfsburg captain, led Kotoko to the Group Stages of the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup and narrowly missed out on the knock phase.
