Kumasi, Nov. 29, GNA - Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday put up last minute effort to hold city rivals King Faisal to a 1-1 drawn game in their Glo Premier League match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi. Both teams started the match on a fast note with Kotoko wasting their first opportunity in the 17th minute when Osei Kwame's header went off target. Kotoko playing at home continued to have superiority over Faisal but the latter was able to turn the heat on as they invaded Kotoko's vital area with dangerous moves.
During such forays, Soulama Abdoulaye was called upon to make dramatic saves in the 22nd and 31st minutes when Prince Arko and Frank Acheampong respectively who had the chances to score, shot into the waiting hands of the tall and lanky goalkeeper in a 'one on one affair" in front of the goalpost.
Kotoko's Osei Kwame also messed up an opportunity in the 41st minute when he hit the side net after goalkeeper Osei Boateng had failed to make a first time save from Nii Adjei's free kick.
Faisal managed to break the deadlock in the 58th minute through Daniel Addo whose shot from a free kick caught Aboudulaye pants down as his shot zoomed into the yawning net.
Ofosu Mickey of Faisal was given the marching off orders after two bookable offences.
Kotoko exhausted their substitution and this paid off as the attack broke through the guided defence of Faisal to level up the scores in the 89th minute through Gideon Baa who connected home a cross from Omar Gariba in a goalmouth melee. 29 Nov. 09
