Asante Kotoko coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has successfully undergone surgery following a short illness.
Following the closure of the 2023/24 football season, the former Ghana Premier League winner has seized the opportunity to address his health issues before the new season.
"Our head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has undergone successful surgery after a short illness. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to having him back soon. GET WELL SOON, Coach!" the club wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
However, the Ghanaian giants will likely commence preseason training without their head coach following the surgery.
The Porcupine Warriors begin preparation for the Democracy Cup on Friday, June 28, 2024, as they gear up for the crunch game against Hearts of Oak.
Meanwhile, Ogum is expected to lead the Porcupine Warriors in the upcoming Ghana Premier League campaign and is poised to make a meaningful impact following a disappointing performance last season.
Kotoko finished sixth in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League campaign.
Ogum led Kotoko to clinch the Ghana Premier League during the 2021/22 season following an impressive performance.
However, he underperformed on his return to the club and will be hoping to change the narrative next season.
