The Ghana League Clubs Association, GHALCA?s Cola Coca Top Four competition 2004 edition witnessed a bizarre beginning when Asante Kotoko and Kpando Hearts of Lion clashed at the Ohene Djan stadium in Accra on the second day of the competition.

When the displeased supporters of Asante Kotoko ripped of the about 300 plastic chairs in the stadium to register their protest for the manner in which FIFA referee J.O Lamptey whistled for the last minute penalty against Asante Kotoko. Although the action of referee was at the last minute, it did not warrant the supporters to act in this way.

The action of the supporters might cost their team 100 million cedis in fine according to acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Sport Council (NSC) Albert Agboso. Although GHALCA, the tournament organisers has agreed to bear the cost of damaged chairs, Asante Kotoko will be fined for their supporters behaviour.

Meanwhile the Administrative Manager of GHALCA, Kudjoe Fianoo said Kotoko would be surcharged for the behaviour of their supporters. The positions would conform to the recommendations of the Okudzeto Stadium Commission that investigated the cause of the death of the 127 fans at the same stadium on 9 May 2001.
