Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko are negotiating with officials from Romanian Liga 1 side Petrolul Ploie?ti to stage an international friendly match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on September 4, according to the club's website.

Ploie?ti's officials arrived in Ghana on Monday to meet with Kotoko management at the club's secretariat. The two parties will hold a meeting to finalise terms and principles before signing the documents, the site said.

The delegation will subsequently visit the Baba Yara Sports Stadium where the game will be played to inspect available facilities.

The Romanian club agreed to open talks for the friendly after Ghanaian agent Eric Oppong held a meeting with Kotoko and provided the full programme of Ploie?ti to them.

Ploie?ti plan to use the encounter as part of their ambition to build a fan base in Africa.

A press conference for journalists and a dinner to socialise the current Kotoko players and several former players will take place at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Kumasi on Wednesday April 22 to throw more light on the game.
