Kotoko to train at Asamoah Gyan sports complex ahead of Kano Pillars match

Ghana Premier League giant, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be training at the Asamoah Gyan Sports Complex at Accra Academy as part of preparations for their upcoming encounter with Kano Pillars in the CAF Champions League.

The Kumasi based side is one of two clubs that are set to represent Ghana in the upcoming edition of CAF’s inter-club competitions following respective triumphs in the recently held Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition.

The Porcupine Warriors have been drawn against Nigerian side Kano Pillars at the preliminary round with the first leg of the tie slated to be played at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

The pitch of the away side is an astro-turf which means that the Ghanaian club will have to adjust and adjust very well if they are to return with a good result.

In a bid to get players used to the astro-turf before the match, management of the club has made arrangement for the team to train at the Asamoah Gyan Sports Complex at Accra Academy which has an Astro-turf.

“As part of our preparations ahead of our 1st leg game in the CAF Champions League, the team will move to Accra Academy sports complex and train for some days on an Astro-turf because the game would be played on an Astro turf", new communications director for the club, Kennedy Boakye Ansah revealed in an interview with Ashh FM.

The first leg of the epic clash will be played on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
