Asante Kotoko have edged Heart of Lions to the signing of Ghana winger Haminu Dramani, MTNfootball.com has reported.
Dramani, 28, has agreed personal terms with the Ghanaian champions ahead of a proposed one-year move to the club.
The former Heart of Lions winger has been without a club since he left Portuguese side Gil Vicente last year.
He had been training with Lions over the last couple of months but has decided to sign for Kotoko to revive his career.
The capture of Dramani will serve as real boost to the Porcupine Warriors ahead of their Ghana Premier League title defense and more crucially their involvement in the CAF Champions League next year.
Kotoko’s pedigree on the continent will afford him the best platform to recapture his form and potentially stage a return to the Black Stars.
Dramani moved to Europe in 2005 by signing for Serbian side Red Star Belgrade before making Ghana’s squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup finals in Germany.
He scored the second goal in the 2-1 win over USA which ensured the Black Stars progressed to the last 16.
He eventually signed for Turkish side Genclerbirligi and then Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia.
