Kumasi Asante Kotoko winger, Eric Donkor, has rued the missed opportunities in their stalemate at home to Bechem United.
The flying winger dubbed the dull 0-0 clash as ‘disappointing’ but was quick to rally his colleagues ahead of their looming clash with Hearts of Oak.
Eric Donkor bemoaned the missed chance to go top of the log after their profligate shooting against the Brong Ahafo-based visitors.
Bechem United completed a remarkable double over the Reds after their FA Cup heroics to deny Micheal Osei a place at the top of the log.
Speaking to sports crusader on their long term ambition of lifting the GPL trophy at the end of the season, Eric Donkor did not mince words; “It’s disappointing because it would have sent us top of the league.
“A win over Bechem United was more than just three points, as it will also motivate us ahead of our big game against Hearts Of Oak.
“We are not out of the title race though, because of the point build-up in the league table.”
Kumasi Asante Kotoko stays joint second on the log with 32 points and 2 adrift of league leaders, Accra Hearts Of Oak.
Kotoko next plays against a resurgent Ebusua Dwarfs on Wednesday, before hosting the division’s table toppers in Oseikrom at the weekend.
