Koufie's Tenure Ends Today

Wed, 31 Mar 2004 Source: --

The Ben Koufie led administration of Ghana Football Association ends officially today after three years in office. The administration?s term of office ran out at the end of December but enjoyed a three-month extension offered it by the Executive Council to enable it resolve several pending issues.

Some of those issues, including court cases and Congress remain outstanding. The FA has however made adequate preparation for Congress already and it does not look like its mandate would be extended again.

The administration would be fondly remembered for several controversies as it waded through one after the other virtually on a daily basis, but one of its flagship achievements remains last Sunday?s historic qualification of the national Under 23 team, the Black Meteors for the Athens Olympic Games at the expense of Zambia?s Young Chipolopolo, who they beat 2:0.
