MUNICH, Germany -- Ghana's Sammy Kuffour, thrown out of the Ghanaian African Nations Cup squad on Monday for "real indiscipline", was back in training with European Champions League winners Bayern Munich on Thursday.

The 25-year-old defender, accused by Ghanaian team officials of being a bad influence on the younger players in the squad, said earlier in the week that he was mulling his future amid reports Real Madrid might be interested in poaching him.

Kuffour has been with Bayern for six seasons and was a Champions League winner last season before scoring the Intercontinental Cup winner earlier this season. "He came back on Wednesday and did some light training on Thursday," Bayern spokesman Markus Horwick said.

Kuffour is in line to start Saturday against Schalke 04, whom Bayern beat to last season's Bundesliga title, as the league opens up again after its winter break.
