Football legend Sammy Kuffour is urging national team selectors to get goalkpeeper Richard Kingson back into the Black Stars fold ahead of January’s Cup of African Nations.

Kuffour says his former teammate has massive experience which will still be useful to the national team at the tournament.

“Richard has been a very goalkeeper for us and perhaps the best goalkeeper we’ve ever had in this country except maybe the Robert Mensah that they talk about that I did not see.

“Olele has been good to us, he’s taken us to two World Cups and he’s been very good,” 35 year old Kuffour said last Saturday on Joy FM’s Sports Link programme.

The hugely decorated Kuffour who featured alongside Olele for the Black Stars during CAN 2000 added: “We need to at least include him in the team as we go for the Nations’ Cup because we need his experience for such a big tournament.

“We may say we have a good goalkeeper in Kwarasey but who else? Who is Ernest Sowah? Olele has to be called back.”
