Accra, Oct. 10, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor returned home from Paris on Sunday night and expressed his delight at the qualification of the Black Stars for the World Cup fiesta in Germany next year. "We've been attempting to be at the World Cup for a while now but without success, but this time round we've been able to make it," he said. "This is a dream come true," the President told journalists at the airport on his arrival.
President Kufuor said government would give the Black Stars all the necessary assistance for them to achieve higher laurels. The Black Stars thrashed the Cape Verde Islands 4-0 in Praia on Saturday to top Group Two and book a place for the FIFA World Cup soccer fiesta in Germany. The Black Stars returned home on Monday morning. President Kufuor who was the guest of honour at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) meeting also addressed the Summit, met with the French business community whom he invited to explore business opportunities in Ghana and also attended a trade show in Paris.
