Veteran sports journalist Kwabena Yeboah is calling on President John Mahama to make public the Justice Dzamefe Commission’s report on Ghana’s participation in the Brazil 2014 World Cup to affirm government’s transparency.
Though President Mahama has promised to implement the recommendations of Justice Dzamefe’s Commission, no assurance has been given on whether the 400-page report will be made public.
The report can only be made public once it is reviewed and approved by the Attorney General and Minister for Justice.
“Because the sittings were done in public camera, we must be as transparent as possible. The contents of the report must be made public. Once it is shrouded in secrecy, it will leave room for suspicions,” Yeboah said.
On March 30, President Mahama received the Commission of Inquiry’s report from Justice Senyo Dzamefe and his two other Commissioners, Moses Foh Amoaning and Kofi Anokye Owusu Darko, at the Flagstaff House in Accra.
