Kwadwo Asamoah: I am ready to do what needs to be done for Ghana

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah insists he is not pressured by the rising weight of expectations on him to deliver at the 2014 World Cup.

The 25-year-old is going into June’s finals in Brazil on the back of an impressive title winning campaign with Italian giants Juventus.

Many believe Asamoah’s form will determine how far the Black Stars will go at the World Cup due to his huge importance to the side.

The ex-Udinese man is, however, always deemed to be playing below his fullest potential whenever he features for the Black Stars.

He is nevertheless expected by many to carry the team on his shoulders in Brazil to provide the needed creativity for the team.

The Juventus man, however, says he is under no pressure despite the huge weight of expectation on him.

“With the kind of experience I have now and with the level of games I have played doesn’t make me feel any pressure at all,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I know how important and how many are expecting a lot from me, but I am ready to do what needs to be done to help the nation.”

Asamoah is regarded as the most in-form player for Ghana going into the World Cup.

He was an integral member of the Juventus team that retained their Serie-A crown which is the second in his career.
