Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Bonsu has completed a transfer move to Saudi Arabian side Al Ain FC for the new season.

The former Asante Kotoko player moves to Saudi Arabia on a free transfer after departing Iraqi side Naft Al-Basra following a short-term spell.

Bonsu signed for Naft in January 2024 after parting ways with Al-Bataeh SC in the United Arab Emirates when his one-year contract expired.

The defensive midfielder joined Tunisian giants Esperance Sportive de Tunis in July 2019 after an impressive campaign with Kotoko.

He was transferred to Egyptian Premier League club Ceramica Cleopatra for an amount of around 290,000 euros the following year.

Al Ain is based in Al Atawlah, Al Qara, Al Bahah. The club was founded in 1978 and plays its home matches at the King Saud Sport City Stadium.

The team competes in the First Division League, the second tier of Saudi football.

Bonsu is expected to be a key player for Al Ain in the 2024-25 campaign as the club seeks promotion back to the Saudi Pro League at the end of the season.
