Kwame Poku continued his impressive form by scoring his fourth goal of the season in Peterborough United's thrilling 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
The Ghanaian midfielder opened the scoring in the 10th minute, connecting with Hector Kyprianou’s flick to give Peterborough an early lead.
Ricky-Jade Jones added a second before halftime, taking advantage of a defensive mistake.
Peterborough extended their lead just after the hour when Malik Mothersille fired in a left-footed effort to make it 3-0.
However, Bristol Rovers launched a quick comeback, with Luke McCormick and Gatlin O'Donkor scoring within 45 seconds of each other to make it 3-2.
Despite the pressure, Peterborough held on for their first home league win of the season, thanks in part to late saves from goalkeeper Jed Steer.
Poku’s standout performances have been vital for the team, with the forward netting four goals in just six league appearances this season.
