The Portland Timbers held the San Jose Earthquakes scoreless on the road Sunday afternoon, handing goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey his ninth clean sheet of the season.
Kwarasey is now the MLS leader in clean sheets.
“I’ll say the team leads in clean sheets this season,” Kwarasey said “Hopefully we can continue to keep it clean at home and also get a couple of clean sheets away.”
Kwarasey said the Timbers need to focus on continuing to get clean sheets as they fight for a playoff berth in their final 11 games.
“It’s all about our confidence,” Kwarasey said. “Keeping a clean sheet is as important as scoring a goal, so it’s huge for all of us to build on that.
