After enduring the long wait to have his desire for a nationality switch approved, Adam Larsen Kwarasey says he is thrilled he can now represent Ghana at international level.

Fifa, last week informed the Ghana Football Association the 23 year-old goalkeeper was eligible to play since he had not played in any official international 'A' match for Norway.

According to Fifa, Kwarasey needs to hold a Ghanaian nationality on a permanent basis and the GFA must ensure that he has never played in an official competition of any category for another Association.

Kwarasey, who featured in one friendly for Norway has told KickOffGhana.com that he is delighted with the communication on his eligibility.

"Of course I am happy that after the waiting I can now play for the Black Stars. I am now looking forward to it," he said.

“I’m happy I can focus on doing well at club level knowing that there are no longer obstacles to my international future."

With his move having paid off, Kwarasey is now setting his sights on competing for a place in the Ghana team with Richard Kingson, being the established number one for the Black Stars.

He said: "Kingson, as far as I know, is one of the best goalkeepers Ghana has produced and it will be a great honor to learn from him. I am still young at 23 for a goalkeeper and his experience I think will be valuable. But I am also a football player and like every ambitious one, I’m keen to play so I will train hard when I get in and make the most of my chance when it comes."
