The stop-gap coach of Ghana Kwesi Appiah said he did not rush into applying for the substantive job of the Black Stars because the time is not ripe yet.

He said he needs more time and experience and when “God’s time” comes he will stick his neck out for the job.

“For me I believe that now I have done the Level B, under FIFA rules when you do the B you need to work with your certificate for a year before you can be a [substantive coach],” he told myjoyonline.com. “So we are still working and I believe God’s time is the best.”

“Once you go into coaching there are things that you need to learn along the line and the FA has got a criteria that you need to get to a certain level before you can see yourself as being fully prepared for the position.”

Three coaches are in contention for the Black Stars coaching job after Serbian Milovan Rajevac failed to renew his contract a month after his impressive performance at the 2010 World Cup.

They are local coach Herbert Addo, Humberto Coelho, and Goran Stevanovic who will be interviewed when the impasse between the Ghana FA and an investigative outfit is resolved.

Appiah said he is ready to work under any of them.
