Former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nayntakyi has agreed to finally offer his club Wa All Stars for sale.

This comes in the back of the recent life ban FIFA imposed on the former Caf first vice president after being captured taking bribe in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas #Number12 investigative piece.

According to the club’s Kumasi representative Emmanuel Sannie, management members and the club owner Mr Kwasi Nyamtakyi held a crisis meeting last week after the ban and have finally arrived at a decision to sell the Wa- based club.

”After a serious discussion, all parties agreed to put the club for sale to enhance the development of the club and future activities,” he said on Silver FM. Meanwhile, management members of the club will be meeting chiefs and the supporters in Wa to explain the motive behind the decision.

Background

Mr Nyantakyi was filmed in an undercover investigation by ace undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas taking $65,000 (£48,000) from an undercover reporter pretending to be a businessman.

Some of the footage from Anas’ film was later broadcast by the BBC World Service’s investigation’s programme Africa Eye.

Soon after the ban on 8 June the longest-serving Ghana FA boss, resigned from the positions he held at football’s world governing body, FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
