The head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, "Golden Boy" Abdul Razak, has said that the LG Top Four Tournament was a good exercise, which would serve as the team's preparation towards the Premier League and the CAF Cup Winners Cup competition.
He said the tournament had brought together some of the country's most exciting teams and Kotoko would use the competition to identify its strength and weaknesses.
Coach Razak, who was speaking to GNA Sports in an interview in Kumasi on Thursday after his team's training session at the Ridge Park, praised the players for proving equal to the task in some of the difficult matches they had so far played.
He said hard work, commitment and dedication were some of the team's secrets for the outstanding performance and was convinced that with the current motivation, Kotoko would not only win the LG Top Four Tournament but would propel the team in their preparation towards achieving higher laurels.
Razak said since taking over the team, he had been impressed with the level of discipline and co-operation among the players and pointed out that these were attributes a team needed to perform creditably.
He took the opportunity to call on the supporters to continue to give the team their unflinching support even in the face of difficult situations.
The Golden Boy said the Premier League and Cup Winners Cup competitions would find Kotoko meeting some stiff opposition, but advised the supporters to remain solidly behind the team so that it can deliver.
He gave the assurance that the players would not be over confident and allow themselves to be overtaken by events but would remain focused, adding that he was working on psyching the players up to take every match seriously as they came.
