Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Champions League Group D opener between Atletico Madrid and Juventus.
Yesterday was a shocker for the defending champions Liverpool and we expect some more fun and action-packed set of games tonight.
New Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri has his first trophy under his belt, winning last season’s Europa League with Chelsea. Can he go one better and win Europe’s biggest prize? He’d be joining illustrious company if he does - only Rafael Benitez, Jose Mourinho and Bob Paisley have won both in consecutive seasons.
Juventus knocked Atletico out of the 2018-19 Champions League in the last-16 - a Cristiano Ronaldo second-leg hat-trick overturning a 2-0 defeat. But the Old Lady only went a round further, losing 3-2 to Ajax in the quarter-final. Both teams will harbour ambitions to win the tournament this season, Juventus the most recent of the pair to reach the final in 2017.
Diego Simeone’s men had started La Liga with a perfect record before returning from the international break to lose 2-0 away to Real Sociedad on Saturday.
Juventus, meanwhile, were knocked off their perch at the top of Serie A for the first time in 552 days at the weekend as they drew away to Fiorentina, leaving them third.
All of the above set us up for a truly amazing game tonight. Stay with us for all the updates.
Game kicks off at 7PM GMT.
