Hello and welcome to our coverage of the third or fourth place match between Ghana and South Africa at the ongoing Africa U-23 football tournament in Cairo, Egypt.
The two sides are battling it out for the last 2020 Olympic Games ticket.
The Black Meteors lost 3-2 on penalties to Ivory Coast in the semi-final while South Africa were handed a 3-0 defeat by host nation Egypt.
Coach Tanko and his boys are confident of winning today’s game which will send Ghana to the Olympic Games for the first time since 2004.
Ibrahim Tanko says his team has done more than enough to be in Japan and will give today’s game their best effort.
“Based on our performance in this competition, I believe we deserve to go to Tokyo (Olympic Games) but we have to really fight for it and I am sure that the boys will be up to the task”.
“It’s our last game in the tournament and it’s also a game that can qualify us to the Olympics so we will put in our best efforts to secure the ticket.
We know it won’t be easy because both teams have been good in the tournament”.
No injury news from both camps so expect the two coaches to field their best players.
