LIVE UPDATES: Kotoko vs Eleven Wonders, Hearts vs B. Chelsea

Hello good afternoon and welcome to our coverage of the Ghana Premier League.

Now after months of uncertainty, the Ghana Premier League is upon us and will start this afternoon.

18 clubs will battle it out for the coveted trophy and the pride that comes with being referred to as Ghanaian champions.

As is typical every season, Asante Kotoko and rivals Hearts of Oak will be among the favourites but so will AshantiGold, Medeama and Aduana Stars all of who are former winners of the competition.

Asante will hope to start their Ghana Premier League season in style when they host an ambitious Eleven Wonders side on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors have not only boosted their squad with new players but they have brought back coach Maxwell Konadu to steer them in the right direction.

Despite also bringing in some new players to boost the Wonders team, Kotoko are favourites to win because they have the players.

Their arch rivals Hearts of Oak are also at home but the Phobians must be in top form to stop Berekum Chelsea in Accra with little impact in the transfer market while city rivals Great Olympics can cause a surprise in Obuasi against AshGold.

Aduana Stars are expected to continue their home dominance over Inter Allies with Bechem United's match against Elmina Sharks expected to be tricky while Dreams FC must account for King Faisal.

Medeama could spring a surprise against Dwarfs in Cape Coast similar to what WAFA can do against Karela while Liberty Professionals will find Legon City daring.
