The outcome of today’s game will certainly determine where the league title will end up and also decide whether the red half of Manchester will be playing Champions League or not.

For the first time in their lives, Liverpool fans are ditching history and pride to support their bitterest rivals against Manchester City. And it is for obvious reasons.

A win for United will swing the title race in Liverpool’s favour but a defeat for the Red Devils will possibly guarantee Europa League for Man United next season.

Fans of United are divided on this game. While some want a match of convenience as a payback for Gerrard’s back pass in 2010, others also feel that a defeat today will condemn them to another season of Thursday Night football.

It’s a big game for Pep and so it is for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer whose team were thumped by Everton on Saturday.

It will be difficult for Liverpool to catch up with City if they win today but a defeat for City will be an upset in the eyes for football pundits.

Pep has missed out on the Champions League after that dramatic defeat to Tottenham and the Premier League is their only way of winning a ‘major’ trophy this season.

Man City have played three big games in the last 10 days and maybe jaded, but against a United side that showed no sign of character against Everton, City will be fancying their chances.
