Nations FC will look to create breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone when they host Hearts of Oak at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Despite reaching the FA Cup final and keeping hopes of silverware alive, Nations remain far from safe in the league.
Only three points separate them from the bottom three with five matches to go, leaving little margin for error as the season enters its final stretch.
Their recent form offers some encouragement. Nations head into this fixture on the back of consecutive victories over Aduana FC and Basake Holy Stars, results that have steadied their campaign at a crucial moment.
Hearts of Oak, however, arrive with their own ambitions. The Phobians are currently third on the table with 46 points from 29 matches, but their title push has suffered a setback following a defeat to Vision FC.
That result left them seven points behind the leaders, meaning they must maintain consistency while hoping for slips elsewhere.
Coach Didi Dramani is wary of the threat posed by Nations, particularly their physical and direct approach.
He noted that his side found the reverse fixture difficult despite winning 1-0 and stressed the need to control Nations’ attacking runs while maintaining their own style of play.
The head-to-head record suggests a closely contested fixture. Since December 2023, the two sides have met five times, with Hearts of Oak winning twice, Nations once, and two matches ending in draws.
The most recent meeting, in December 2025, ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for Hearts. Across those encounters, Hearts have scored four goals compared to Nations’ two.
