Accra, Nov 8, GNA - The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Ghana 2008 Africa Cup of Nations has shifted the venue for the proposed seminar for sports journalists from Elmina in the Central Region to the Greater Accra Region.

The seminar, which was originally meant to be a two-day residential event has been altered to a one-day workshop that will now take place at the Labadi Hotel on Saturday November 18 at 9:30 am.

Magnus Rex Danquah, Chief Operating Officer of the LOC said this in a statement copied to the GNA Sports on Wednesday.

The statement said the change in venue and the duration is due to alterations in the traveling arrangements of some of the resource persons for the seminar.

It therefore asked interested practicing journalists to apply for accreditation through their heads by the close of Monday, November 13, at the secretariat of the LOC.

The seminar forms part of the programme outlined by the LOC for the next inspection exercise by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) next week.

It is also aimed at updating the knowledge of sports journalists on the operations of the competition and the rights of the media before, during and after the Ghana CAN 2008 competition. 08 Nov 06
